How right you are Leslie. I would love to join the tea party in Chicago on July 4th. My concerns are the obsurd government spending, bailouts, the health care package proposal that
excludes congress and unions, and the taking away
of our freedom of choice and voice.

Matthew Alexander, author of How To Break A Terrorist, tells of a suspected terrorist who said to him, “I thought you would torture me, and when you didn’t, I decided that everything I was told about Americans was wrong. That’s why I decided to cooperate.” Alexander also stated that in his time conducting interrogations in Iraq, he found that “the No. 1 reason foreign fighters flocked there to fight were the abuses carried out at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo. Our policy of torture was directly and swiftly recruiting fighters for al-Qaeda in Iraq.” America has always stood out as an example of a nation who respects the rule of law and punishes those who engage in torture, whether it was the American Generals court-martialed for waterboarding in the Philippines under President Theodore Roosevelt or the Japanese officers found guilty of war crimes by the United States for their use of waterboarding. We recognize that many Americans have found a way to justify this behavior, however we also believe that respect for human dignity can’t be separated from a commitment to individual liberty.

i was going to put this on my facebook page until i read the “principles”. get rid of the article regarding gitmo and torture or you risk losing alot of folks like me that feel this is NOT a part of the original intent of the tea parties.

    bad move guys.
